Anees Bazmee has been making films for the last 25 years and his only aim is to see the audience laughing and go home happily. They create films for audiences ranging from 6 to 80 years and keep away from pornography in the name of comedy.

This is the reason why his films are seen a lot on TV. Films like No Entry, Thank You, Welcome, Welcome Beck, Ready get a decent TRP on TV and these films are shown continuously.

His latest film ‘Pagalpanti’ is also made in the same genre for which Anees is famous. As the name suggests, the film has an insane and not to be taken seriously. The viewer also buys the ticket of the film with the hope that his film will be firmly entertained.

But ‘Pagalpanti’ is an average film. It does not appear that Anees is famous for. Anees could not think of anything new for Pagalpanti and he has repeated himself.

Anees has focused more on the visuals rather than strengthening the story, whether these scenes fit into the story or not. If the scenes are strong then the audience does not pay attention to the story. Some scenes have become good in Pagalpanti, but their number is less.

The characters of Anees films wear expensive clothes, live in houses like palaces, move around in expensive cars and walk with brains. The location of the film is also fantastic. This is the same thing in Pagalpanti.

The story is of Rajkishore (John Abraham) who is very ‘unlucky’. A pundit says that Saturn is not sitting behind it but in its lap. Wherever he goes, the work gets spoiled. One such character Akshay Kumar played in the ‘Housefull’ series.

Rajkishore and his two friends Janki (Arshad Warsi) and Chandu (Pulkit Samrat), lose crores of gangsters WiFi bhai (Anil Kapoor) and Raja Saheb (Saurabh Shukla) and become his servants in return. He continues to be harmed even by becoming a servant and due to this both gangsters get into trouble.

A crowd of actors have been assembled in the film. England as a location. Cars are blown. Comedy has been done. She has also shown the lion, but the film has not been able to become her own.

The film has two major flaws. After interval, the film comes to a standstill and the story starts moving around. The second news item is the length of the film. This 165 minute film can easily be made 30 minutes short. Many non-essential scenes and songs merely extend the length of the film.

Anees did not appear fully in form as a writer and director. Many of his scenes were flat in which there is no laughing matter. Such as the opening scene of the film in which the firecracker shop catches fire. There are other scenes where laughs are also made.

Dialogues are the life of comedy films, but the dialogues of the film are not special. Same is the case with music.

Dance and comedy are not just about John Abraham. John has not given much attention to the director anyway and he remained subdued. John’s uneasiness can be clearly seen in many scenes.

Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla certainly keep the audience tied on their acting and have managed to make them laugh. Pulkit Samrat has acted fiercely.

Ileana D’Cruz, Kriti Kharbanda and Urvashi Rautela’s work was beautiful in which they have been successful. Kriti Kharbanda has got some good scenes. Ileana has been at number two, while Urvashi Rautela appears after the interval and has received very few dialogues. All three have been average in acting.

Overall ‘Pagalpanti’ is a timepass movie.
