Films made on college life are mostly successful because it is considered a golden period of life. Those who have passed away remember their old days and those who are passing away are happy to see their present on the screen. The same college and hostel life has been screened by film director Nitesh Tiwari through ‘Chichhore’.
The story is about Anirudh (Sushant Singh Rajput) and his ex-wife Maya (Shraddha Kapoor). His son Raghav fails the JEE entrance exam. Believing himself a ‘loser’, he jumps off the building. He is admitted to hospital in critical condition. Doctors say that medicines are not able to effect much because they do not want to live.
Anirudh decides to narrate the stories of his hostel life to Raghav. He calls his old friends Seksa (Varun Sharma), Acid (Naveen Polisetti), Mummy (Tusshar Pandey), Bewada (Saharsh Kumar Shukla) and Derek (Tahir Raj Bhasin).
Everyone recounts Raghav in the hospital about how his hostel used to tease students living in H4 as ‘losers’ in H3 as his hostel never won the general championship based on sports. Was.
The purpose of narrating these stories is that Raghav learns to fight failure and loves life. Being behind in a test does not mean that his motive for living is over.
Nitesh Tiwari, Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Mehrotra co-wrote the film. The story has the fun of hostel life, the pressure on children in the field of education, the sports competition, the importance of friends in life and the track of Anirudh-Maya’s love story and divorce.
While watching the film, films like Three Idiots, Students of the Year and Hiccups start coming to mind. Different issues were depicted in these films and all these things are seen in Chichhore too.
The film keeps swinging into the present and past of Anirudh and his team. Whenever hostel life scenes appear, the film looks entertaining, but the current scenes are boring.
As soon as the sports competition starts, the film becomes routine and its freshness is over. The film starts running on the track of Student of the Year and a large part of the film has been spent on it.
Anirudh and his team try to win their hostel, it affects the seriousness of the film. Just by hooting the front, by waking them up at night, you do not win the match. Of course, these scenes are entertaining, but they do not fit into what the film is designed to present.
Pole is also a victim of repetition. The same things are repeated in the scenes by the doctor telling Anirudh and Maya their son’s condition.
Why did Shraddha and Anirudh get divorced? This case is not presented properly, while many things have happened in the film. This is to say that the film runs on many tracks, but the tracks other than Hostel Life do not appeal.
After giving a blockbuster film like Dangal, Nitesh Tiwari could have made a film with a big star, but he can be praised for the fact that he made films with stars whose box office value is not much and according to the story Selected artists from.
Nitesh Tiwari impresses with his direction rather than writing and to some extent he has made the film worth watching. Some scenes are laughable and some are emotional, but this cannot be expected of Nitesh alone. Admittedly, his film gives a message, but the story he chose for it does not reflect newness.
If we talk about entertainment, the film hiccups between good and boring scenes and the flow of entertainment is not the same.
Sushant Singh Rajput could not impress with his acting. Her performance in an especially aged character is crude. Shraddha Kapoor also appeared in the film with similar expressions.
The performances of Prateek Babbar, Naveen Polisetti, Tusshar Pandey, Saharsh Kumar Shukla and Derek Tahir Raj Bhasin are fine. Varun Sharma’s performance in the entire film is worth watching. His every expression is fantastic and he has carried the weight of the film on his shoulders.
According to the mood of the film, there is song and music which sounds good while watching the film.
Overall ‘Chichhore’ is a film that is liked only when seen with very little hope.
